For a Pakistani or international ecommerce store, start with three checks: can OpenAI accept your product feed, does the landing page match each product’s current price and availability, and can you measure real orders with the right conversion event? A product-feed campaign can put catalog items into ChatGPT ads at scale. It is a paid ad format in beta; OpenAI says feed products do not appear in organic ChatGPT conversations.
Choose the campaign around your store’s job
A feed campaign uses structured catalog information across many products. It can suit a store whose inventory, prices or range changes often, provided the feed stays accurate. Product filters let an advertiser choose which items an ad group can use.
A standard campaign can suit a specific promotion, seasonal offer, bundle or brand message that needs custom wording beyond the product fields. A store may use one, the other, or both. The right mix depends on the offer, eligible products, landing page and measurement setup; a feed is not a guarantee of sales or better results.
OpenAI’s current feed guide lists CSV or TXT uploads, a hosted URL and SFTP as import options. It says feed items expire after two weeks, so a hosted URL or automated SFTP update is worth considering for a changing catalog. New product-feed campaigns currently support location targeting and exclusions only at country level. Check the current setup screen and feed instructions before preparing an upload.
Check the products before launch
Use the product count during ad-group setup to confirm that the selected feed and filters include the items you intended. Review a sample preview and check each product’s title, image, description, price, sale price and landing page. A successful upload alone does not confirm that every offer is approved or ready to serve; the Products tab is a reporting view, not a full catalog inventory.
For a Pakistan store, check the details shoppers rely on before ordering: PKR pricing, stock by delivery area, delivery charges and timing, cash-on-delivery availability, return terms and product variants. These are store-quality checks, not special OpenAI feed requirements. Keep ad and landing-page details consistent, and do not advertise products that cannot be supplied on the terms shown.
Make purchase measurement useful
If you want to evaluate sales, decide what counts as an order and confirm the purchase event is configured correctly before interpreting campaign results. OpenAI reports Order Created Sales and Order Created ROAS only from attributed order_created events. A store’s full order book and an ad platform’s attributed conversions answer different questions; neither should be substituted for the other.
For cash-on-delivery orders, choose a measurement event that matches the business question, such as an order being created or a later confirmed or fulfilled stage where your event setup supports it. Keep cancellations, returns, discounts, taxes, shipping and collected cash visible in the store’s own reporting. Make sure any order value and currency sent with an event match what you intend to measure. OpenAI says attributed conversions can take 24–48 hours to appear, and totals may change while events process. See the conversion tracking guide for implementation details.
Budget for a decision, not just the minimum
The minimum campaign budget is not a forecast of what a store will spend or earn. OpenAI says daily budgets pace as an average over a seven-day period: delivery can be higher or lower on a particular day within the stated limits. The applicable minimum varies by market and currency, so check the amount displayed in Ads Manager rather than reusing an old AED or USD example.
Estimate a test using your margin, average order value, historical conversion rate, delivery capacity and the number of orders needed to make a decision. Treat those inputs as your assumptions, not a ChatGPT Ads benchmark. The platform is still evolving, and there are no dependable industry-wide performance guarantees.
A practical store checklist
- Confirm the advertising legal entity and account meet current country and account requirements. Pakistan is listed for self-service Ads Manager as of 27 October 2026; the entity that advertises and is billed must be in a listed country. Individual account, product or campaign approval is not guaranteed.
- Prepare and validate a feed, then choose a refresh method that suits how often your catalog changes.
- Check product filters, item counts, sample ad previews, prices, stock and landing pages.
- Decide whether to use a feed, a standard offer, or a measured combination.
- Test the selected conversion event and reconcile attributed results with the same date range in your ecommerce records.
- Increase or pause spend only after checking data quality, fulfillment capacity and the economics of the products advertised.
Quick answers
Should every online store use a product feed?
No. It is useful when the catalog and feed data fit the products you want to advertise. A standard campaign may fit a particular promotion or message better.
Do feed products appear in organic ChatGPT results?
No. OpenAI currently says products in feeds are eligible for ads during beta and do not appear in organic ChatGPT conversations.
How often should I refresh a product feed?
OpenAI says feed items expire after two weeks and recommends a hosted URL or automated SFTP uploads. Choose a refresh process that also keeps price and stock details current.
Does Order Created ROAS show every sale in my store?
No. OpenAI defines it using attributed order_created events. Compare it with your store records, which may include orders that were not attributed to an ad.
Can Pakistan businesses create ChatGPT Ads campaigns?
Pakistan is on OpenAI’s current self-service availability list. The legal entity must be based in a listed country, and account, product and campaign review requirements still apply.
What budget should I start with?
Use the current market-specific minimum shown in Ads Manager as a constraint, not a performance recommendation. Size spend around your own margin, order economics and ability to fulfill demand.
