ChatGPT Ads login: sign in, invitations and access fixes

Ranknizer field guide · Pakistan

By Ranknizer Editorial · Updated 31 October 2026

Sign in to Ads Manager with an OpenAI account, distinguish login from account access, understand Admin/Member/Viewer roles, and troubleshoot missing invitations or account-creation options. Follow the checks for identity, invitation status and assigned permissions before changing account settings.

The short version

Sign in to Ads Manager with an OpenAI account. There is no separate ChatGPT Ads password. To see a particular advertiser, you also need a role on that specific account. Being signed in to ChatGPT, belonging to a company workspace or having another OpenAI product role does not automatically grant Ads Manager access.

Pakistan is listed for self-service Ads Manager access in OpenAI’s country list checked 27 October 2026. Market availability is only one part of the process: account permissions, advertiser eligibility and verification are separate checks.

Which sign-in should you use?

SituationNext step
You are creating the first advertiser account for your businessSign in with the OpenAI account you will use to manage that business and follow Ads Manager signup.
Your business already has an advertiser accountAsk an existing account admin to invite the email tied to your OpenAI login.
You are an agency or contractorUse your own permitted OpenAI login and ask the advertiser to invite you to its account with the role needed for your work.
Your company uses an OpenAI tenant, SSO or synced directoryConfirm the required Ads sign-in method and account-specific role. Tenant membership or SSO alone is not enough.

For business continuity, use an organization-managed work identity where your policies allow it, and keep an effective account administrator with the business. This is operational guidance; OpenAI’s key requirement is that the user has a permitted sign-in method and the correct role.

How invitations and roles work

An administrator assigns access to each advertiser account. The current account roles are:

RoleWhat it allows
AdminManages the account and supported user access
MemberUses and updates campaign resources without full account-administration access
ViewerViews account information without campaign editing

To invite a user, an authorized Admin opens the correct account’s user settings, chooses Invite, enters the email address used for OpenAI sign-in, and assigns a role. Invite a person separately to every advertiser account they need to access. At least one effective account Admin must remain. If access comes through both a direct role and a group, OpenAI applies the higher role; removing one path may not remove access granted through the other.

An Ads Admin role is different: it is assigned at the OpenAI tenant level and can allow account creation when eligible. It does not automatically grant access to an existing advertiser account. Global Admin, Ads Admin and account Admin are not interchangeable.

If you can sign in but cannot see the account

  1. Confirm the email/login you used is the one the account administrator invited.
  2. Ask the administrator to check the correct advertiser account, invitation status and your account-specific role.
  3. If your company uses SSO or synced users, confirm that Ads sign-in is configured and that your Ads account role is assigned separately.
  4. Check whether the invitation went to another OpenAI identity you use. A ChatGPT workspace invitation does not substitute for an Ads account invitation.
  5. If access still fails, use OpenAI’s support path with the account name/ID, exact error and time of the attempt. Do not send passwords, full payment-card details or security codes.

If campaigns were already active, do not assume an access error paused them. OpenAI advises that account access problems may leave campaigns serving. An authorized user should check the campaign status and pause it in Ads Manager if the business wants delivery stopped.

If “Create account” is missing or blocked

  • Account membership count: At ten or more ad accounts, you cannot create another yourself. The count includes accounts you created and accounts joined by invitation. You can still be invited to another existing account.
  • Selected account: Creating an additional account may require selecting an eligible existing self-service account that uses card billing.
  • Organization permissions: A company tenant may require a global administrator or Ads Admin to grant the appropriate tenant role.
  • Advertiser eligibility: Being under the account count does not guarantee that your business, organization or selected account meets all requirements.

Creating another account does not bypass business verification, account review or policy requirements. For access to an existing business, ask its administrator to invite you instead.

Access does not mean the account is ready to advertise

After you sign in, follow the account’s setup prompts. OpenAI treats business verification, account approval, ad review and delivery as separate checks; completing one does not complete the others. Business verification may take up to seven business days, but use the status and instructions shown in your own account rather than treating that estimate as a guarantee.

If sign-in or account access remains blocked, follow OpenAI’s troubleshooting guide. If the account works but a campaign is not delivering, use the separate Not serving guide.

Common access mistakes

  • Assuming an OpenAI workspace, API or ChatGPT role grants access to an advertiser account.
  • Asking the administrator to invite a different email from the one used for OpenAI sign-in.
  • Confusing tenant-level Ads Admin with an account-level Admin role.
  • Removing a direct role without checking whether a group still grants access.
  • Trying to create another account at the 10-account membership limit.
  • Assuming an access error or verification status means active campaigns have stopped.

Quick answers

Where do I log in to ChatGPT Ads?

Go to ads.openai.com and sign in with the OpenAI account you use for ChatGPT, or create an account through the signup flow.

Do I need a separate password for Ads Manager?

No. Sign in with an OpenAI account. Access to each advertiser account is assigned separately through a role.

Why can I sign in but not see my advertiser account?

Check that the administrator invited the same email attached to your OpenAI login and assigned you a role on the correct account. Workspace, SSO or directory membership alone is not enough.

What is the difference between Ads Admin and account Admin?

Ads Admin is a tenant-level role that can create eligible advertising accounts. Account Admin manages a specific advertiser account and its access. One role does not automatically grant the other access.

Can I still be invited after I reach ten ad accounts?

Yes. At ten or more account memberships you cannot create another account yourself, but an administrator can still invite you to an existing account.

Can an agency manage our advertiser account?

Yes. The business can invite the agency user’s own OpenAI login to the advertiser account and assign an appropriate role. Keep an effective account admin with the business.

Does signing in mean my ads are ready to run?

No. Verification, account approval, ad review and delivery are separate checks. Complete the tasks and review the status shown in Ads Manager.
